Based on the case studies of a music festival and community radio, we discuss the topic of being a conscious, aware and responsible cultural medium. What are the issues with this? What is being asked of a cultural medium regarding sustainability, critical awareness and core values nowadays?
This session aims to put in focus issues about political action in the fields of art and entertainment, as well as problems related to irresponsible cultural appropriation and diffusion. It reflects upon the role and responsibilities of media channels when it comes to sharing cultural products and engaging with the audience as well as with artists in creating a shared space for raising awareness and constructive exchange.
