Through journeys across Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, Atahualpa Yupanqui became a cornerstone of Latin American identity. This film traces his extraordinary journey—from ethnographic travels on horseback and political exile to artistic consecration in Europe, research in Japan and encounters in Africa. Drawing on archives, music and personal records, it explores Yupanqui’s lifelong quest to understand the dialogue between people and their territory.

Federico Randazzo Abad is a filmmaker specializing in documentaries and fiction about Argentine history. He has filmed in more than 15 countries and directed, produced or written over 500 television documentaries. He has also collaborated with artists and journalists including Eduardo Galeano and León Gieco.
