Chile is one of the largest countries of urban music consumption. In the past five years, Chilean urban music has seen unprecedented growth, with streams reaching the hundreds of millions and an export of music shows across Latin America. Women now have a significant presence in the genre, with a twist: lyrics that speak about empowerment, self-worth, resilience and body positivity – music that women can enjoy without being insulted by the lyrics. Dive into the dynamic world of Chilean female artists who are boldly challenging social norms, advocating for gender equality, and reshaping cultural and political landscapes through their music. This panel will celebrate the voices of women who are revolutionising the urban music genre in Chile, inspiring change both within and beyond the industry.
