This Network Meeting is presented by Europe Jazz Network, European Music Council, and others. A network is a structure that can easily adapt to changing environments and at the same time incorporate new ideas, react to crises and find new solutions.
The idea is to gather representatives from the most important music networks present at WOMEX 16, present briefly the main characteristics of each network and the opportunities they give to their members. After this, we can have an open discussion with the participants of the meeting on what the networks can do to support the music sector in terms of advocacy to the national and international institutions, and as well in terms of services they can offer to members and collaborations between the networks.
The outcomes could eventually lead to a roadmap for ideas from the networks to address the current economical/cultural crisis.
