Cumbia at the Edge of the Forest is a sound gathering set in the forests of Hökarängen, Stockholm. Colombian musician Goyo and his family ensemble Son Parceros collaborate with filmmaker Miguel Buenrostro in a collective act of listening, where cumbia rhythms echo through the trees, transforming the forest into a Caribbean-Scandinavian soundscape. Based on the concept of an “auditory tunnel,” the film explores how forests hold migratory memory, movement, and resonance—becoming spaces of transmission, diasporic kinship, and sonic refuge.
