In 2017, Stolen Moments - Namibian Music History Untold Research Group was invited to a public dance at the National Theater of Namibia in Windhoek. The entrance was free and only people above 40 years old were let in. Next to the dance floor a film studio was set up. Everybody who peeped out of curiosity through the door was invited to show his or her dance to the camera while the party and music next door played on. Dance Me This features some of the results that were captured to safeguard Namibia’s popular dance culture of the past.
Aino Moongo is a founding member of the Stolen Moments - Namibian Music History Untold Research, an organisation exploring Namibian music culture that was almost forgotten and had been suppressed under apartheid for several years now.
Thorsten Schütte is a German documentary filmmaker and has worked for over 20 years as a writer, director and producer. He has produced and directed numerous films such as Namibia Generation X and Eat That Question - Frank Zappa In His Own Words.
Aino Moongo and Thorsten Schütte will be present at WOMEX 18.
