Rhythmic and raw, Dark City Beneath the Beat is a Baltimore club musical experience highlighting local Baltimore club artists, DJs, dancers and producers pioneering the sound while rising above social and economic turmoil. Inspired by an original Baltimore club music soundtrack, the film showcases music as a positive subculture in a city overshadowed by trauma, drugs and violence. From the political and social climate to the creative LGBTQ community, the audio-visual piece opens a window connecting the world to Baltimore.
Tedra Wilson also known, as TT The Artist found her creative identity in the streets of Baltimore, becoming a leading voice in the city's creative scene since 2008. Her approach to filmmaking stems from DIY artists roots that lead her to directing her own music videos that would feature rising talent from Baltimore. Dark City Beneath The Beat is TTs first feature-length production.
