After the first WOMEX in Eastern Europe (WOMEX 15 in Budapest) it is noticeable that Central European music has been relocated on the maps of festival organisers and promoters all around the world.
While all these nations are still struggling with self-identification and financing their culture, it is still worthwhile to meet and discuss how we can maintain the buzz around the Central European talents. We can sense the success of regional showcases and regular meetings, e.g. at Crossroads of Ostrava and Budapest Ritmo, but what else can we do? What forms of networking can be the most effective and how can we make them supportable? We will also update participants on the ongoing projects of the Central European umbrella organisation: Central European Music Square.
