Singer, guitarist and activist Ebo Krdum arrived in Sweden in 2010 at an age of 21, as a refugee from the long-running political strife in Darfur, western Sudan. The soft-spoken troubadour has found in his adopted home a safe space to continue on his artistic path, utilising his soulful singing voice to carry his lyrical themes - in eight different languages - conveying his thoughts on equality, diversity and liberty, accompanied by his own amalgam of Saharan styles, Afro-blues and Afro-beat, deftly picked out on a steel-string guitar. Ebo Krdum is now based in Stockholm where he has assembled a high-quality international band of musicians from the local scene and established himself as one of the most prominent world music acts on the music scene. Now, fresh out of the starting blocks in time for WOMEX 2021, is his acclaimed solo album Diversity that has been listed the ”number one album" by Swedish biggest national newspaper Dagens Nyheter three weeks in a row. For the WOMEX showcase, Ebo presents a diverse line-up of musicians from the Diversity album, where he combines Scandinavian folk music with his own mix of African blues, storytelling and afro-beat.
