Singer, guitarist, activist, Ebo Krdum arrived in Sweden in 2010, aged 21, a refugee from the long-running political strife in Darfur, western Sudan. The soft-spoken troubadour has found in his adopted home a safe space to continue on his artistic path, utilising his soulful singing voice to carry his lyrical themes - in eight different languages - conveying his thoughts on equality, diversity and liberty, accompanied by his own amalgam of Saharan styles, Afro-blues and Afro-beat, deftly picked out on a classical nylon-string guitar. In Sweden he has assembled a high-quality international band of musicians from the local scene, Genuine Mezziga, releasing the album, Salam, in 2019. Now, fresh out of the starting blocks in time for WOMEX 2021 is his solo album, Diversity.
