Spiralling out from Cuba, collecting and connecting musical threads to create a transcendent tapestry, Espirales weave together elements of Cuban, jazz and classical music with influences from around the interconnected world. The ensemble was formed in 2023 by five Gold Certificate graduates from Havana's Superior Arts Institute (ISA), each bringing their individual experience in a different musical field. They have performed on several important stages in Cuba, including the Jazz Plaza International Festival, the Habana Clásica classical music festival, and the Varadero Josone 2024 popular music and jazz festival. They have also held concerts, workshops and master classes in the United States, Spain, Italy and Romania, bringing Cuban music and its roots closer to their vision of contemporary chamber music, with programmes featuring young Cuban composers.
