Mentoring by
Aryn Rashdi (Malaysia), Metora / Sound of SEA;
Nicole Sarmiento (Philippines), SONIK Philippines/Sound of SEA
As artists from the global south increasingly enter international markets, many face the challenge of expanding globally without reshaping their identity to fit external expectations. This roundtable mentoring session invites delegates into an open and practical conversation on sustainable international growth rooted in cultural integrity. Together, we will explore export readiness, alternative pathways beyond traditional western gatekeepers, diaspora and regional markets, partnership-building, and long-term career development strategies. Through shared experiences and real-world insights from south-east Asia and beyond, participants will be encouraged to discuss challenges, exchange perspectives, and rethink what meaningful global success can look like for artists and teams working across diverse cultural ecosystems.
