Gulzoda Khudoinazarova was born in Bukhara in 1981. She studied Traditional Song at Bukhara State University of Arts where she successfully took part in a number of national competitions, gaining second place in the important Marghilan competition in 2001. This won her the qualification to attend the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, where she went on win the sixth national maqam performers’ competition. By this point, she was able to fill the prestigious Zarafshan concert hall for a solo concert.
She continued with more concerts alongside studying for a Music of the Orient master’s degree. After graduating, she began her full-time career with the shashmaqam Ensemble named after Yunus Radjabi. Until today, she is an active performer at festivities such as Independence Day, Navruz, and concerts dedicated to Teachers’ Day, Constitution Day and the Day of the Country’s Defenders.
