Indigenous artist Dr. Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu was one of the most important and celebrated voices to ever come out of Australia. Blind from birth, he found purpose through music. His music was propelled into Australia’s mainstream in the 1990s by Michael Hohnen and Mark Grose of Skinnyfish Music. Hohnen became Gurrumul’s close companion, both on and offstage, supporting him professionally and personally. The film sensitively depicts the highs and lows of Gurrumul’s musical career with his popularity soaring internationally as he struggled to balance his soaring international popularity and traditional Yolngu life. Gurrumul, the film is a soaring, evocative audio-visual journey into the life, struggles, culture and landscapes of one of the world’s most unique performers.

Paul Damien Williams has been working in the film industry since 1997, first as a freelance editor, later as a producer with his own company, Sutton Grange Films.
