Weeks before Paris hosts the world’s most fateful climate summit for decades that will shape much about our future, Julie’s Bicycle and Europe Jazz Network (EJN) present ’Take the Green Train’ – a new initiative to inspire collective action, exploring the environmental issues facing the cultural industries and how the jazz sector can respond as part of a global movement addressing climate change practically and inspirationally.
Building on a seminar at Gateshead International Jazz Festival 2015, this meeting will present a green manifesto for the EJN membership and lay the groundwork for further exchange of best practice and a green touring project in 2016. We want to develop a network response across artists, venues, and promoters, explore how we can transform our working practices, and create new collaborative approaches to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing environment.
