This open session is for all ensembles, cross-genre, from ten to 35 artists: from choirs to chamber or jazz orchestras, from contemporary music ensembles to … you name it! These mid-sized organisations, working with freelance musicians, face specific challenges compared to small music formations, but definitely to big institutions such as symphonic orchestras. We are structures, with (some?) funding, who are responsible for our education, who tour internationally, who want to care about social responsibility and just run our businesses as anyone does, but have to make do with a small back office, freelance artists and different funding. In coming together to exchange ideas in a dedicated space, let us find new inspiration and learn about each other’s innovative projects. This session will be a start of an annual gathering with a specific agenda each year.
