An essential figure in Portuguese music, master guitarist, composer and producer, Pedro Jóia, has not only been at the forefront of the new fado movement of the last two decades, he is also an accomplished flamenco guitarist. He has collaborated on recordings and performances around the world with artists such as Ney Matogrosso, Gilberto Gil, Mariza, Yamandu Costa, Raquel Tavares and Bobby McFerrin. Along the way he has released six albums under his own name, composed music for theatre and films, and toured internationally as a solo artist or with duo and trio projects. His current duo project with illustrious percussionist, Jose Salgueiro, released the 2020 album, Zeca, celebrating the songs of iconic songwriter José Afonso, and is now touring with a journey through his expansive career encompassing the worlds of fado, flamenco and Brazilian music.
