Puuluup: Cables in the Car is a humorous and visually rich music documentary about two middle-aged musicians who bring the forgotten Estonian bowed lyre back onto world stages. Dry humor, absurd twists, and their self-described “neo-zombie-post-folk-sensation” create a lively portrait of artists balancing success with everyday life, fatherhood, and the search for meaning. At its heart, it is a warm story about late-blooming ambition, proving that it is never too late to dream — or to start conquering the world.
Taavi Arus is an Estonian filmmaker, cinematographer and editor. A former PE teacher and, briefly, a post-mortem cleaner, he brings a unique sense of rhythm and dark humour to his storytelling. His documentaries explore people, absurdity and the poetry of everyday life.
