Presented by Sigtryggur Baldursson (Iceland), managing director, Iceland Music;

and Leifur Bjornsson (Iceland), senior project manager, Iceland Music;

Iceland’s wealth of contemporary artists from a myriad of genres has had an indelible impact on the globe, with creative talent from a population only 330,000 punching high above its weight. If anything, the island’s soundtrack is growing ever more dynamic, as artists follow in the footsteps of their peers and continue to create new music that the world takes notice of.

Record in Iceland is a unique 25% refund programme for recording music in Iceland, where the government refunds a quarter of all costs after the music is released. It can include for example studio rent, hired performers, lead performers, producers, engineers, studio personnel, post-production, and last but not least, travel and transport. This new opportunity makes recording music in Iceland a real possibility for your project. It can be beneficial for projects travelling across the Atlantic – stop to record and get 25% refunded of travel costs. Many composers and projects are already making use of the programme and have commented on how well it functions. Come and get to know all advantages to this dynamic and easy to use programme.
