In a world beset by conflict, every effort to support affected communities counts. Music, when combined with activism, is emerging as a powerful catalyst for peacebuilding and reconciliation in conflict zones.
This session explores how organisations focusing on conflict areas leverage creativity and music to heal communities, foster dialogue and bridge divides. The discussion will draw on the speakers’ expertise and focus on strategies to change negative narratives, generate income, empower communities and expand networks. This panel brings together musicians, government representatives and activists to examine innovative projects from different perspectives: In Place of War with its global Change-Maker Network; the Colombian Ministry of Culture's 'Sonidos para la Construcción de Paz'; and Marimbea's cultural tourism.
