Sitos is a former gang member from Kinshasa, who put away his machete, earning his living unloading goods in the harbor. When he manages to save a few Congolese francs, he records his songs in a small studio whose sound engineer and beatmaker has become the specialist of a musical genre that is not yet listed on the music maps: ‘zagué’.
For Florent de La Tullaye, it all started in 2004 with a first film in the ghettos of Kinshasa and the meeting of its countless musicians: La danse de Jupiter. He later followed hundreds of African musicians, invited by Damon Albarn, for a tour of England on board a train transformed into a mobile studio, the Africa Express.
