The global music industry is built on speed: rapid touring cycles, short-term programming, and constant growth without strong foundational practice. Indigenous communities, however, have long organized cultural exchange through relationships, consent, protocol and responsibility to land and people in community.
What does touring look like when it centres values, rather than venues? What changes when care, protocol, trust, and long-term connection become infrastructure rather than afterthought?
This session gathers Indigenous-led models already in motion: land-based festivals, slow touring networks, and relational partnerships designed for welcome, accountability, and return. Rather than proposing a new system, this conversation offers lived practices that challenge the pace of extraction and invite a deeper, community-rooted approach to how we move music across territories.
