The story of the DJ, selector, radio host and son of a priest, Dakta Dub, from the multi-ethnic Indian city of Hyderabad where together with his crew, and despite the pitfalls, he is building the city's first spiritual sound system, referencing Indian and Jamaican Rastafari connections in reggae music culture, to promote roots, reggae, dub music and dance meditation amongst the youth in a diverse and partisan community.

Producer, researcher and filmmaker Roy Dipankar's early A&R work includes the likes of A.R. Rahman, Ustad Sultan Khan, Panjabi MC. Among his filmography is the award-winning documentary on the Indian subcontinent's underground subculture and geopolitics Extreme Nation, as well as NAFiR, a film that takes a closer look at Indo-Persian Sufi artistry.

Protagonist Pavan Kakarla AKA Skanking Star will be attending WOMEX 2024 and also the panel on 26 October at 12:00.
