Session 11

Chaired by Ellie Moore (UK), senior programme officer, Help Musicians UK

UK charity Help Musicians has a long history of supporting classical music creators to train to the highest level. As we approach our centenary in 2021, we have been examining what support is needed for music creators to achieve sustainable and fulfilling careers in the future music industry. Six months ago, Help Musicians commissioned Susanna Eastburn and Jane Williams to conduct research and undertake interviews across the UK music sector to investigate these questions.

This Classical:NEXT session invites international colleagues in the industry to hear and test provisional findings from this research through interactive discussion. Joining this session will be Enrique Márquez, who will provide a Latin American perspective on the research, as well as valuable additional insights from his work. The session will be hosted by the researchers and Help Musicians.
