A summit meeting of three renowned musicians merging their singular styles and multiple cross-genre experience into a unique and unclassifiable trio. Violinist Sébastien Surel is the founder of the Talweg Trio and has played with French accordion maestro Richard Galliano and bassist Jean-Philippe Viret.
Cellist Vincent Segal first emerged with trip-hop duo Bumcello and has collaborated with Ballaké Sissoko, Carlinhos Brown, Cesária Évora, Blackalicious, Sting and Elvis Costello.
Buenos Aires-born guitarist Tomás Gubitsch arrived in Paris aged 19 as a member of Astor Piazolla’s ensemble and stayed to carve out a multi-faceted career, playing with Stéphane Grappelli, Steve Lacy and Nana Vasconcelos, amongst others, and composing for major international orchestras and film and theatre.
Together they beat a vigorously beautiful, improvisatory path through their own compositions and works by Thelonious Monk, Hermeto Pascoal and Charlie Chaplin.
