Presented by Sue McKenzie (UK)
Wanting to commission and create a new, highly personal piece of repertoire, saxophonist Sue McKenzie (Delphian Records) kept a personal diary for 12 months. She felt there was a need to bring together her various ‘musical lives’ of contemporary classical music and improvisation. The diary was then passed on to composer John Harris (The Garden / Death of a Scientist / Red Note Ensemble) and together they have been using it to develop “The Book of Weather” - a song-cycle for saxophone, laptop and fx pedals.
