The Broadside Hack is a short music documentary from British Underground exploring the influence of traditional folk songs on a new generation of musicians filmed just as the UK was emerging from the dark days of the pandemic. The documentary was made in collaboration with music collective Broadside Hacks and features influential artists and groups from the new folk scene including Shovel Dance Collective, Thyrsis, caroline, Naima Bock, Broadside Hacks and Boss Morris.
Crispin Parry is a filmmaker, broadcaster and writer. He founded British Underground to offer international opportunities to new UK talent and has worked with artists like Stormzy as well as being instrumental in helping music scenes from folk to jazz find an international audience.
Director Crispin Parry will be attending WOMEX 2024.
