The Ibero-American cultural space comprises 23 countries across different continents, united primarily by the Portuguese and Spanish languages. Cultural diversity is a central theme in shaping this space, as it draws on Indigenous, African, and European cultural roots. Fostering cooperation between countries is essential to transforming cultural differences into assets that support artistic mobility. This session brings together representatives from various initiatives that promote public policies for exchange and multilateral cooperation (such as Ibermúsicas), national cultural policies (such as Funarte), and spaces for dialogue (such as the Ibero-American Forum of Music Markets – FIMM). They will present opportunities for engagement within this cultural space and discuss the unique characteristics of a region that transcends national borders.
