This week’s WOMEX 25 session release takes a closer look at how music policy works beyond major urban centres. The Music Policy Resilience Network: Remote Music Policy explores the realities, challenges, and opportunities of building music ecosystems in remote and rural contexts.
Chaired by Angharad Cooper and featuring Adam Jeanes and Nathalie Manzano-Colliot, the session draws on the work of the Music Policy Resilience Network, which connects 19 towns and cities across the world, from Greenland and Kyrgyzstan to Nigeria, Australia, and the UK. The discussion shares insights from local-level research, highlighting how policy, collaboration, and knowledge exchange can support music communities in diverse settings.
Offering an honest look at both the challenges and the outcomes, the session opens up space for reflection and exchange on what resilient music policy can look like in practice.
