The 2022 Innovation Award theme is 'Collaborations'. In challenging times, it becomes especially apparent how important it is to have a strong network and how powerful it can be to collaborate with others.
Collaboration implies opening up to new ideas and perspectives as an essential part of evolution and growth. Recently, topics such as social inclusion, climate change and diversity have been in the spotlight and organisations are exploring new collaborations in order to bring these to the forefront. These efforts are opening up classical music to new themes, locations and people, expanding the borders of the genre.
For this year’s Innovation Award, we want to shine a light on inventive collaborations and new constellations that stretch the traditional borders of classical music.
A total of 20 nominees were selected for the Classical:NEXT 2022 Innovation Award longlist by a committee of 15 music journalists and experts from 13 countries, whose work focuses on renewal and trends in classical music.
From this longlist the Nominating Committee will select the ten nominations for the shortlist. Once the shortlist has been determined, it's you, the Classical:NEXT community that will have the opportunity to place an online vote to decide on the recipients of the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award 2022 through C:N NET, providing you have an active account.
