Innovation Award 2021 - The Longlist

Every year, Classical:NEXT honours the inventive, the daring and the innovative, but in 2021, the Innovation Award has never felt more pertinent. With one giant storm, the many boats all needed solutions to not only stay afloat, but also withstand the turbulent waters. In the face of a global pandemic, we look towards and find inspiration from those reinventing the wheel, pushing the boundaries and setting new standards for the art music world.

Placing the spotlight on forward-thinking projects as nominated by the dedicated Nominating Committee, the Innovation Award celebrates the many trailblazing projects taking place across the many sectors and countries that make up our vivid ecosystem.

We are pleased to announce the Classical:NEXT 2021 Innovation Award Longlist, singled out by the expert members of the nominating committee for their outstanding profiles in their respective home countries. From online concerts and intimate performances to benevolent projects that served the wider community, explore this year's nominations.

How It Works
Longlist, Shortlist, Public Vote: After each Nominating Committee member has named their chosen projects, the same experts then vote collectively to reach the top ten. Once the Shortlist has been determined, you - the delegates - will have your say. The entire Classical:NEXT community, made up of more than 5,000 delegates who have attended Classical:NEXT since 2012, have the opportunity to place an online vote to decide the recipients of the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award with C:N NET.

The recipients will be celebrated at the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award Ceremony at De Doelen in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on Wednesday, 29 September 2021.
