About the position:
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible in handling the coordination, production and logistics for the overall WOMEX event, during the pre/post-production phase in Berlin and during the production phase in the host city.
This includes:
- Strategical and operational supervision of the WOMEX Production, in coordination with all departments and the management
- Supervision and coordination of Production Schedules
- Managing WOMEX overall budget and responsibility for financial interim reports
- Coordination and mediation of production enquiries by the local partner, WOMEX Team/Departments, Freelancers and Suppliers
- Coordinating of working schedules, travel, accommodation, local transportation for WOMEX team
- Evaluating and overseeing production-related needs of WOMEX-venues and infrastructures, technical equipment (in coordination with departments) + setting up timelines, documentations etc.
- Support in Trade Fair Production (handle exhibitor requests, coordinate on site)
- General representation of WOMEX and inquiry of potential new partnerships through strategic networking
- Assistance in the host city/local partner selection process
- Development and Implementation of Accessibility Strategies and Measurements
- Coordination of volunteer needs with departments and local partner
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Experience in project management, production of national and/or international cultural (industry) events
- Excellent English, high level verbal and written communication is essential
- Ability to work proactively in a team and independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in an intercultural organisation is a plus, with attention to collaborative relationship building and management
- Strong communicational and organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Interest (ideally also knowledge) in global music and art
- Has completed basic studies or possesses a comparable qualification
- Is secure in working with Microsoft Office / Open Office or comparable programmes and cloud-based filehosting applications (similar to GoogleDrive)
- German language skills is a plus
- Confidence in working in a complex, ever-evolving, global environment
Good to know: The position requires being based in Berlin and the availability to travel at least once a year for the international production.
