At Classical:NEXT, we have the privilege of being in continuous contact with representatives across all sectors of the art music scene. So while physical events remain limited, we wanted to take a moment to gather and share some of the thoughts, hopes and wishes for the future from among the community.
The changes in the last year have given huge cause to rethink what we do, how we do it and why. Of course, these questions were always a motor to innovate and push for positive change, but we have been witness to many members of the Classical:NEXT community recognising that now is the time to clearly frame and share their visions for this art form openly.
With that in mind, we asked them to describe their ideal art music world. Watch the video to hear what they had to say.
These voices speak of the strength, potential and the multiple paths art music can travel into the future. To discuss their ideas further and exchange with one another, a special Voices from the Community Meet Up will kick off the upcoming Classical:NEXT Encore online series on Wednesday, 26 May 2021 from 13:00 - 14:15 GMT.
This session aims to focus on the positive and offers an opportunity to share your own hopes and wishes. Join in to spend time with the contributors of the video messages and colleagues from around the world and perhaps even leave feeling inspired to take the first steps in creating your own ideal art music world.
