A self-taught musician and songwriter, Hugo Arán was drawn to the guitar and to Brazilian music early in his career and these influences are evident in much of his later work.
In 2004 he travelled to Brazil and immersed himself in local rhythms and harmonies. It was during this period that he started writing and composing his first songs influenced by great artists such as Chico Buarque, Marcio Faraco, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others...
In 2007 he moved to Granada and together with Pablo Azevedo formed the duet Tato Azevedo. They participated in several singer- songwriter competitions and won many awards which enabled them to record their first disk Sordo (Deaf) (2008).
In 2011 Hugo struck out on his own, adding a blend of styles like Bossa Nova, Baião, Zamba and Jazz to his repertoire. His music took on an uncomplicated and intimate style, not touching on common places and themes. He created songs for a world that turns constantly faster and that sometimes cries out for silence.

- ANUARIO -
A blend of bossa nova, baião, zamba and jazz in a very elegant and unique style.
