A reality was born in 2001, and untill now this reality only brought succesful results. Sumrrá’s proposal is formerly jazzistic, but it takes randomly another elements from another genres or styles, like pop, rock, folk, etc... in their persistence of telling their own point of view of their own story...
Under the emblem of the improvisation, the freshness, and the riskness, Sumrrá has a high level of composition and control of their own instruments, being right now the unquestionable referring of the “New Galician Jazz”.
In the last album, "6 Women", Sumrrá pays tribute to 6 powerful women that were, and still are an inspiration in fighting for a brighter future for all the humanity: Frida Kahlo and Rosa Parks from America, Rosalía de Castro from Galicia, Quin Jin from China, Malala Yousafsai from Pakistan and Nawal El-Saadawi from Egypt.
"Sumrrá 6 Women" is a 21st century contemporary musical aproach to feminism.
