The group's research into early-ethnical musical covers a wide range of different musical traditions, and a faithfulness to tradition ensures that original sounds, and styles of a period are preserved. Cantilena Antiqua consists of musicians who specialize in performing both sacred and profane repertories of past traditions. The retrieval of such repertoires is the result of close research into the musical sources, literature and history.

Their latest program, Lo Guarracino, (tarantellas, calacionates and Neapolitan arias of the late 18th century), is a melting pot where cultured and popular traditions meet and merge. The sound of original 'early' instruments and the reconstruction of traditional performance practices allows the audience to truly experience the "ancient" genre.

ECA has toured in many European Countries: Belgium, France, Slovenja, Croatia, Spain and have performed in numerous International Festivals such as: Festival Voix et Route Romaine (F), Il Canto delle Pietre (I), Festival van Vlaanderen (B), Festival Transreligiosa (B), International Festival of Lubljana and Brezice (SLO), Festival International Terra de Troubadours (E), Festival de l'Ile de France (F).
