Originally from Mendoza Simpecao attracted the public and the media because of the soundtrack of the famous soap opera Soy Gitano, whose themes were included in the album Que Te Muevas, edited by Random Records.
The band was formed in 1995 when the singer Maria Soledad Contreras and the guitarist Daniel Moreno got together, many years after having been on the solo scene
They were joined by the guitarist Alejandro Samer, the dancer (also winner of Gold Palm) Gabriela Magni and the percussionist Santiago Servera.
Later Federico Alma replaced the original bassist Clonti Benegas and gave place to the current formation.
The new album, Aflamencarse, deepens the stylization of the original Rumba and Flamenco, with particular compositions of delicate arrangements.
Daniel Moreno and Maria Soledad Contreras colaborate writing the compositions and lyrics of the songs where the Gypsy spirit deeply marks the Romanticism.
Today, Simpeaco make constant performances inside the country and have become the most popular Flamenco band of Argentina.
