Nominated as the "New Guard", the group Lafayette & Tremendões celebrates in 2014, nine years of career with new songs in their repertoire of swings and ballads. The new songs of the group are related to brazilian musical movements of the 1960s and 1970s mixed with contemporary styles as carimbó and current rock. The group is led by the master of the keyboards, Lafayette, soloing on new compositions of Renato Martins (guitar and vocals), Gabriel Thomaz (guitar and vocals), Erika Martins (percussion and vocals), Nervoso (guitar and vocals), Melvin Fleming (bass) and Raphael Miranda (drums).
Since 2005, the group has been surrending and shaking the nights of Rio de Janeiro and all the country, participating in festivals throughout Brazil and injecting new blood in the Brazilian music scene, including revitalizing the “Young Guard” to launch a compact vinyl - the "Pão Duro" (“Tight-fisted”).
