Celina da Piedade, one of the most recognized singers and songwriters in Portuguese roots music, is back on the record lane with a very special new album released on March 19th!
"Celina da Piedade ao vivo Casinha" is the artist's fourth album in her own name, the result from the registration of her concert held last year on Live a Casinha, streaming to the whole world from the mythical studio of Xutos & Pontapés (most known portuguese rock band) in Lisbon- Portugal, at a time of great uncertainty and crisis in the Culture sector, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Opposing to the adversities, this album reflects the power of Celina da Piedade's music and its ability to transmit a luminous and contagious energy, with a folk sound inspired by the traditional Alentejo songbook and travels to other places. With a total of twelve tracks, the disc has eight unpublished themes and four new versions of outstanding songs in the artist's path, such as: "Coradinha", "As Cobrinhas of water / Tricot", "Andorinha no ar andou" , "Valsa Almofariz", "Laranja da China", "Saia da Carolina", among other titles.
Accompanying Celina da Piedade, incredible musicians: Nilson Dourado on guitar, Sofia Neide on doublebass, Filipa Ribeiro on percussions and voice, Sebastião Santos on drums and also the special guest Ana Santos on violin and viola.
The album will have physical distribution and will also be available on all digital platforms, with the support of the Municipality of Mértola, Municipality of Serpa, Xapa13 and the label Disco Antena1, in a Sons Vadios's edition, an independent publisher dedicated to Portuguese folk music, that also edited Celina da Piedade's previous album "Sol" (2016).
