Formed by the award-winning Orkney duo of fiddler and mandolinist Graham Rorie and singer-guitarist Aidan Moodie, together with flute and whistle wielder Connor Sinclair and Craig Baxter on bodhrán, the Glasgow-based quartet have risen to the fore of Scotland's burgeoning contemporary folk scene, charting an upward course over nine years of gigging and three self-released albums to sell-out shows at Celtic Connections. The latest album, 2023's Stretching Skyward, continues their innovative exploration of their acoustic roots, retaining a strong sense of their Orkney origins whilst incorporating new electronic elements, from fleet-fingered romps through traditional dance tunes to original songs re-telling stories of emigration, shipwrecks and the harsh lives of those living on the land, set in a multi-layered musical landscape drawn with elements of Americana and rousing choruses with the energy of rock anthems.
