A few folkies who were active in organising gigs and festivals, came together in October 1995 and started the band Et Encore. After playing Irish traditionals and popular folksongs for some years, the band evolved into a folkrockband with a lot of own songs. They played moreover then 200 concerts in Belgium and abroad and built up a great live reputation. Three of the original members are still active and are, during the years, completed with a bassplayer and a fiddler.
The band released their first full cd ‘not a full box of smarties’ in the summer of 2000. After that there came a period of intense touring in Belgium and France (a.o. Aymonfolkfestival – Fr). The played a lot of smaller and bigger venues, concert halls and festivals.
After that came albums ‘greetings from St.-Louis’ and ‘the barber next door’. During the month march of 2010 the latest album ‘waiting for my friends’ is released. 14 new and mostly own-written songs give an idea of the live spirit of the band. This cd received very good critics and brought the band on stages in Belgium and abroad (o.a. Skagenfestival - DK, Zeltikfestival – LUX, Bustofolkfestival – IT, Fêtes de la mer – FR, Dranouterfestival – B,...)
But for all the band is still the great funband with a strong live reputation, bringing a good atmosphere and songs that are great to dance.
