Li Shuang-Ze (1949 - 1977) was the key person who sparked off the "campus folk song movement" in Taiwan in the 1970's, short before his heroic death in 28. During the last 10 months of his life, Li Shuang-Ze endeavored in writing songs including the famous "Formosa (The Beautiful Island)", which was adapted from a poem written by Chen Xiuxi.
Salute! Sing Our Own Songs collects the representative works of Li Shuang-Ze, including the original demos recorded by Li and his friends, and also some paintings and photography of this multi-talented artist. Folk singers of new generation such as Chen Yon Lon and Ilid Kaolo also pay their tribute by covering Li's song in this album.
