Viviane has born in Nice - France in 1968, where she grew up listening to Edith Piaf,
Sylvie Vartan, Serge Gainsbourg, Juliette Greco, Michel Sardou and so one... also her
brother (twelve years older) used to buy almost everyday all the new music that they used
to listen at home very loud...
Her mother preferred to listen to Amalia Rodrigues, the Fado diva.

Viviane came to Portugal with thirteen years old but just before that, she made in Nice and
Cannes the first part of the concerts of the famous Fado singer Carlos do Carmo singing
with a small local band. At that moment she felt her life would not be the same again. The
stage and the audience were so extraordinary and unforgettable experience that made her
understood that she really wanted to become a musician.

Some years later in 1990, Viviane initiates her musical career in Portugal creating, with To
Viegas, the well kown pop/rock band ENTRE ASPAS, who released five albums for BMG
ARIOLA.

After the ending of the band, Viviane initiates her solo career in 2005 and decides to go
back to her musical influences when she was a happy child in the French Provence, using
her musical experience, composing her own songs with her own style bringing a new
sound to the portuguese music.

Obviously, Fado has a strong influence on her music. In the Fado, Viviane founds the
emotion, the feeling, the soul and the energy that characterize the special way she sings
her songs.

Therefore, Viviane joins her very special voice and her chosen instrument, the flute, along
with the Portuguese guitar, accordion, viola, acoustic bass and percussion.
Until the moment she recorded three albums "Amores imperfeitos" in 2005 "Viviane" in
2007 and "As pequenas gavetas do amor" released in 2011.

For this last CD, Viviane has invited some special guests: the Fado singer Antonio
Zambujo and the Portuguese Guitar players, Custodio Castelo and Luis Varatojo.
She also continues to honor some great Portuguese poets and writers such as Vasco
Graca Moura, Jose Luis Peixoto, Eugenio de Andrade, Fernando Pessoa, Ana Hatherly,
Rosa Alice Branco, Ana Luisa Amaral and also includes lyrics of his own.

In her songs, Viviane takes us to travel through the universes of the Fado ,of the "Musette"
and "Chanson" mixing tradition with originality. She says that "music has no frontiers".
Showing at the same time an enormous simplicity and a very singular attitude, Viviane
is the owner of a very mature voice, able to sound sometimes strong and sometimes like
velvet.
The stage is the place where she feels most happy sharing in a very special way her
music with the public.

Viviane is undoubtedly of one of the most charismatic and interesting voices of the new
portuguese music.
