Moana & the Tribe is an 8-piece band led by Moana Maniapoto, inducted into the 2016 APRA AMCOS NZ Music Hall of Fame for her “significant long-term contribution to New Zealand music.” The band has played hundreds of international concerts across Europe, Asia, North America and the Pacific, including the Sydney Opera House twice. Live highlights include Open Air St Gallen (Switzerland), Chiemsee Festival (Germany), Sziget (Hungary), Rainforest Festival (Malaysia), Colours of Ostrava (Poland), Ulsan Festival (South Korea), Riddu Riddu (Norway), Woodford festival (Australia), Bienale (Italy) , Etnosur (Spain) , Sunfest (Canada), HebCelt Festival (Scotland), World Expo (China), Amsterdam Roots festival (Netherlands) , Sunsplash Reggae (Austria) and many more. The band includes two haka exponents, (experts in traditional Māori performing arts) and optional video projections. Live, the band is a visual and audio spectacle, an experience that can only have come from New Zealand.
