Launched in 1999 and acquired by the Mark Allen Group in 2015, Songlines is the leading world music magazine published 10 times a year with distribution in over 60 countries . As well as each new edition, the entire archive from the very first issue is available in digital format for all three platforms: iOS, Kindle Fire & Android. In 2008, Songlines launched Songlines Music Travel and in 2011 Songlines started its own festival at London's Kings Place, Songlines Encounters Festival. 2018 marked 10 years since the launch of the Songlines Music Awards with an inaugurual awards ceremony in association with Soundcrash Music. The 2019 awards ceremony is taking place on November 30 at London's EartH Hall in Hackney and will be hosted again by Cerys Matthews and with performances by Mariza, Fatoumata Diawara, Gaye Su Akyol, Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita and Monsieur Doumani. In addition to Songlines celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019 the August/September 2019 edition (publisherd in July) was the 150th issue.
