Accordion virtuoso and composer Kimmo Pohjonen has been exploring hitherto unforeseen possibilities of his custom-modified instrument through three decades, giving thousands of performances around the globe including many major festivals across the genres, reflecting his ground-breaking and experimental approach. His extensive recorded output ventures through the worlds of Finnish folk song, jazz, rock, contemporary classical music and avant-garde electronica, including collaborations with the Kronos Quartet, Samuli Kosminen, and Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson, amongst others. He has also composed for theatre productions and participated in multi-media performances with English farmers and Olympic wrestlers.
