Li Ucci Festival is an annual celebration of Salento's folk music heritage held in Cutrofiano, in the province of Lecce, southern Italy. Founded in 2011, one year after the passing of Uccio Aloisi, the festival was created to honour the historic group Li Ucci and to keep the songs, stories and gestures of Salentine tradition alive, letting them "contaminate" and grow through new musical experiences.
Across a week-long programme, the town becomes a diffused stage for popular culture: live concerts of pizzica and traditional Salentine song alongside contemporary artists, theatre, photography exhibitions, workshops on pizzica dance and tamburello drumming, food tastings and artisan showcases. What began as a local tribute has grown into a regional gathering point, drawing musicians, artists and audiences from across Salento and beyond.
