This album mainly features two Mangbetu groups - the Mayogo and the Meje - with their drum ensembles, mass singing and exqusite likembe playing and the intimate kundi harp. More harp songs by the Balendu, and a unique recording explaining the language used in sending drum messages up and down the upper Congo River. Recordings by Hugh Tracey from 1952.
