Paris Texas is a 5-piece band that originated as an informal gathering of new-kids-on-the-block singer- songwriters Gerrit Hüppertz and Dave Crockaert on the one hand, and three seasoned instrumentalists on the other hand: Maarten Michielsen (You Raskal You, Nashville Bum) on double bass, Dirk Peeraer (Rawhide) on dobro and Jan Michielsen (Four Wheel Drive, Blue Maxx) on mandolin.

Initially their songs were mainly reflections on the roadtrips Gerrit made to the U.S.A. but more recently they widened their repertoire introducing more universal themes such as broken love, lost love, unwanted love and the joy of spitting cherry stones on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Considering the pedigree of these fellas it will not come as a surprise that their music shows a dominant Americana feel with strong bluegrass and old timey country overtones.

Springtime 2019 Paris Texas spent three days in the studio with producer Pascal Deweze (Sukilove/ Broken Glass Heroes) canning 13 songs in a live setting (no overdubs please) for their debutalbum entitled When You’re Gone.

Through the rest of 2019 Paris Texas played a series of live club gigs and festivals of which the absolute highlight was the renowned Omagh Bluegrass Festival in Northern Ireland where they managed to steal the show with their energetic live set.

If a steady groove, hot acoustic picking, refined harmony singing and original catchy songs is what you like, look no further: Here is ... Paris Texas.
