Brazilian bassist, composer, arranger and producer.
Manoel Cruz was born in 1968 and raised in music environment playing since very young. He has studied in "Fundacao das Artes" and "Universidade Livre de Musica Tom Jobim" http://www.emesp.org.br/pt/home/ - one of most importants music universities in Brazil.
For more than 20 years he is performing in Clubs, TV Shows, Festivals and Concerts as a sideman of many Brazilian and overseas artists as Adylson Godoy (Maestro e Pianista), Pery Ribeiro, Claudia, Mirian Mirah, Carmen Silva, Noite Ilustrada, Art Popular, Cia Sargentelli. During that time he also did a lot of arranging and producing of pop and instrumental groups.
In 2003 he has recorded his first album called "Alcateia".
Nowadays he is working with his "Manoel Cruz Quartet" in Brazilian Jazz clubs performing his own compositions that was recorded from a concert in Teatro Humboldt in 2010 in the DVD "Under my Soul".
His compositions are Brazilian Instrumental Music with a taste of Brazil regional music (baiao, maracatu, samba), classical and modern jazz.
