Uma Nota is a reference point for world citizens and lovers of world music and culture, since 2007.
What started as a Toronto-based event series has grown into a full service studio for consulting, production, marketing and management, focusing on Brazilian, Latin, Caribbean, funk and soul music, provided by both live acts and djs. Unpretentious, open-minded, lively and fun, Uma Nota is a place where locals, artists and trendsetters come together and move to the tropical vibe.
Known for the Uma Nota Festival, a multi-day music and multi-arts event, the Block Party series, and MIXTO, a new block party venture in Toronto's west-end, Uma Nota has also programmed and produced events as part of Luminato Festival, Harbourfront Centre, in/future, Lulaworld, and Small World Music Festival among other collaborations.
Along with the music, our events have included a wide range of cultural activities and programs. These elements might include interactive workshops in dance or percussion, among other family-friendly programs; film screenings; custom-made video projections, stage design and thematic decor; vivid parades; dance performances; live painting; cultural talks and panels; visual arts markets and food vendors; art and photo exhibitions and more.
